Since Incubus is coming to Brazil and Chile soon, we thought it would be nice to get to know the Incubus fan groups there. Bruna is the creator of Facebook’s Incubus Brazil and Francisco with his Comunidad Incubus Chile. Here is what they have to say about Incubus and their fan groups.

We would like to say thank you to Francisco for your best wishes for Incunesia. Rock on!

Well, I’m the creator of Incubus Brazil in Facebook but I was inspired but some other friends. Here, there’s another social network named Orkut in which was created by Google 8 years ago, and almost every Brazilian Incubus fan I know are there. We have some popular communities for Incubus. Some of them have more them 50.000 members. And have twitter, fotolog and a website as well. I’m one of the co-admin of the fotolog and twitter.

I noticed the amount of groups for another countries and how much the guys appreciate this love so I’m trying to bring the Brazilian love here. Facebook is getting popular for Brazil. I’m willing to invite some other friends to be administrator so they can update when I can’t. Since the group is for Brazilian fans, the updates are in Portuguese but I’m trying to do it in three languages: Portuguese, Spanish and English so everyone else can support us!

Incubus has a major importance in my life. When I was younger, I face a though time in my life. I was getting apart from family and friends, barely eat or sleep at all. One day, I was watching MTV and ‘Drive’ video started. First, the video caught my attention but then I listened close to the song and it inspired me to get the wheels of my life and I got really better. I believe what makes Incubus such an amazing band is their fans. We’re like a big family all around the world.

Incubus is also a band who write beautiful songs, that is engaged with the planet. You don’t hear that they were caught waisted, DUI (driving under influence), sex tapes scandals or hotel room destruction. They’re cool guys. Only their name is evil. Haha. Most of their lyrics inspire you to be yourself, don’t take bulls*** from anyone, live your dreams and that’s awesome. I wish more youngsters meet Incubus and get inspired by them cause most of the bands and artists nowadays only sings about sex, drinking and etc.

The first album I heard from Incubus was Morning View, and I immediately felt that I had to find more from them. It didn’t took long between that and the time I started looking for people who shared this great taste in music, and that’s how I end up in Incubus Chile, I can say that some of the best people I’ve met has been found in this place, and I am proud of what we have created so far, and as Mike finishes his part in Look Alive, I also think I’ll be in this for the rest of my life.

I’ve never asked myself so deeply into that actually, why am I in Incubus Chile? If I had to describe the circumstances, well, I luckily got there at the right time, when the wheel just started to spin, and by a series of actions and decisions, I got to where I am now, administrating Incubus Chile. But the efforts are not only mine, I always say that Incubus Chile, as today exists, remains thanks to all who have contributed with each post on the message board, every idea and every activity that everybody has been taking part of.

Personally I’m in this because I feel like the band has given me so much through music, that there is a connection I have to transmit to others. I feel an internal responsibility of letting people know about the band and the great ability they have to wrap your life with their music and that each song will be a great part of your future memories over the years.

Everyone at Incubus Chile is contributing at making important decisions, whether to create t-shirts, banners, website designs, etc. or to organize meetings all across the country. My favorite part in all of this is communication with the outside world, via Facebook, twitter, email, and the constant communication with Steve Rennie, who patiently answers all my questions.

As a reward for all of what we have done, in my own view, I had the chance to meet the band in 2007, appear in the Podcast #3, get the video from the band to all the Incubus fans in here, and many of the messages Ren has sent us. All of this is the engine that takes us towards newer and bigger things to do. Today we are, just as you did in Incunesia, starting our project for Make Yourself Foundation.

My personal mission (and wishes) when I started in this suddenly became the mission and wishes of the whole Community which is to transmit and share what we love and appreciate from Incubus, and as important as that, a place to meet new people and why not, new friends. That’s the magic of Incubus to me, the magic that unites people.

Good luck in all the new projects at Incunesia and I hope the band can go to your country as soon as possible. Thank you very much for this space the space you gave us to share our thoughts on this awesome band. We are looking forward to hearing from you again; we will help you spread the word about anything you ask us to.

Smile and look alive,
Francisco Stiglich

Happy 34th Birthday, Mikey!

Wishing you all the best in life. We hope you’ll have the best birthday ever! We hope to hear the new album soon and to see you guys back here sometime next year. Big hugs from all the Incubus fans in Indonesia.

Incubus Group Page is THE ONE fan group page in which has super speed and accuracy when it comes to Incubus updates on Facebook. Behind this passionate ongoing project are Holly J. Erickson from USA, Duygu Yenidogan and Esin Ee from Turkey. We asked them to share their stories as to why they made the group page and what inspired them, aside from the obvious. Here are the words from the girls who made Incubus Group Page. Enjoy!

*You can visit Incubus Group Page at their Facebook page AND follow them on Twitter @IncubusFans.

Obviously being a HUGE Incubus fan is at the heart of all I do, but there is something more when it comes to this band. Everything they do inspires, entertains, and makes you feel apart of the Incubus experience. I feel like as fans we make up the band also. Every Incubus fan I meet wherever I go or don’t go [surfing the fan forums and what-not] I seem to feel a connection and kindred spirit with. The love of the band becomes a lifestyle and way of thinking. It’s not just mind numbing music. They are intelligent and highly emotional through their music/art.

Out of that respect for their talents I began searching to know more about them and their fans and see if others felt the same. I found a fan group on MySpace [when MySpace was the place to be] that was founded and monitored by my friend from Duygu from Turkey [we call her Dy for short]. We all sort of became this family and support group. Well, obviously once MySpace started losing its appeal and more people were moving to Facebook I made the suggestion to move our group there. So, Dy took the initiative and created what is now known as Incubus Fans Group page! She made Esin [another fan/friend from Turkey] and I admins to assist her in keeping everyone connected. Dy was super busy finishing law school and Esin was busy with school and work also. I took it upon myself to reach out and spread the word about our page.

Our MySpace page had been more of a discussion/forum type place, but I started going for a more news/information type page with our Facebook account. I just wanted a one-stop shop for any/all Incubus fans to come and get the latest news/photos/events/videos/music from our boys. I think we all know that there are so many resource, we can find information on, thanks to the Internet. I kind of see it as my job to scour and search the web for anything I think fans might find interesting or need to know. I pull all of it from many websites and compile it into our Incubus Fans page. I like being able to share what I find with others and making their day with a little IncuLove. Our fan base has grown considerably and I continue to see our number go up. We are hovering around the 1,500 ranges at this moment and I can only hope to see it get bigger. Not for myself but, for the band/fans. I want to keep Incubus on the minds/ears of all those around us. People need to hear the message this band has. They are good for the heart, soul, and mind. I even created the Twitter account once I saw Twitter becoming a major player in social networking.

All I do is upload the info into our Facebook page and it auto tweets our latest updates! I just like the feeling of covering all networks with Incubus’ name! I don’t get paid for this, I don’t have any close connections with the band members, but I do know them through their music and their art. I feel as a fan we are given a great opportunity to share in their life through their music. I have yet to see a band so humble, and as good-natured as Incubus that gives back to their community with such passion with out really expecting much in return. They aren’t another marketing gimmick and honestly, they don’t really need much PR. The band sells itself and I stand behind them all the way.

Holly J.

Holly is absolutely right with everything she said. I have been so obsessed with Incubus for years and I did my best to keep up with them. Incubus was the reason I got a Myspace account and it was one of the reasons I got a Facebook as well. For a long time, I tried to catch up with every update on Incubus, read everything, saw everything and downloaded everything. Gotta tell ya, my mom was at first surprised with my obsession but she got so used to it. She is a primary school teacher and she likes playing soft music while her kids are studying so she even wanted me to upload Love Hurts and stuff to her laptop. Once Incubus is on the radio she says, “Ah this is Incubus,” (have I mentioned my mom is in her late fifties and does not really speaks English?)

I have a confession at this point. With me being a senior in university and getting a job, I got left so behind. I could not catch up with things as much as I used to, and this is the point where I want to thank Holly and Dy, because I acted too lazy to just post an update but I am always following things, I swear!

And about the music, what can I say. I remember the first time I saw the video of “Drive”, I remember the first time I was in love with “Sick Sad Little World” and ” Echo”. I can never forget the times I begged and eventually fought with my brother because he would not give his credit card so I would buy Incubus tickets for the Istanbul gig. I will never forget getting to the venue 10 hours earlier and seeing my feet got numb in my chucks on March 8th. Maybe I missed out on the group and being a real admin, but I never neglected appreciating the music, the brains and the inspiring nature of these guys. What else can I say?

I think I am very lucky to have discovered this great and inspiring music at such an early age and I cannot do anything else but wish these guys would keep making such a wonderful music. (Although sometimes I can’t help think they would go back to S.C.I.E.N.C.E. or ACLOTM sound). At the end of the day, what I like doing the most is just sit back and relax with Incu-music and nothing will ever change this!

And it’s unbelievable how many friends I made from different countries. Maybe -and probably- it is the same thing with other bands; they attach people (from so far away but) so close; still it feels so special and it is such a feeling I relate to Incubus. You know how all kids think their mother is the best mom in the world; I think we have the same feeling about our guys. They are the best and we would never compare it to any other!

Beyond running the Incubus Group Page, (actually Holly is the one about running and everything with the whole stuff there), I was running the “Incubus Fans” on Myspace as Holly mentioned above, and still running the “Michael Aaron Einziger” fan page on Facebook.

I don’t remember the first time I heard their music, but I can say I still have the same feeling. Their music is inspiring and definitely make me smile. After long years in 2007 I had my first Incubus Concert in Turkey, I watched them right in front of the stage… And I couldn’t tell the energy they were giving.

After the show I started opening Incubus groups on Internet and I met lots of Incu-fans all over the world. But I really like to share one of my best memories. It was my birthday and Esin told me that she wanted to show me a video. When I start watching it, I saw couple of my Incu-friends, which I just met on the Incubus Fans group, made their videos with singing me happy birthday songs and telling me how Incubus is uniting us. Esin collected them and made it a birthday video gift for me. Believe me it was the most amazing present I’ve ever had in my life… I really was crying while watching it!

So as you can see Incubus is just not a regular band. They have so many amazing fans and there is a very strong bond between us all.

And I really like to thank all the members and our beautiful admins who keep up the hard work. Cause everyone’s making all the effort they can. This is why I appreciate all of the Incu-friends and, of course, The Band! =)

One of the main purposes as to why we held our first event “Incunesia For Make Yourself Foundation” was to raise money for a certain local charity. We looked through many charities and then we found out about Yayasan Pita Kuning thanks to one of our team members who mentioned them in one of our meetings. We finally chose to help Yayasan Pita Kuning because it is a non-profit organization focusing on awareness, prevention and treatment for kids with cancer that is run purely by volunteers with Erwin as the leader. *For more information about Yayasan Pita Kuning, go to

We wanted to help the way we could and we believe that the power of strong spirits can be a huge advantage for the children to fight cancer from within. So with the raised fund, we decided to take them see the Moscow Circus. None of them has ever been to a circus. Therefore, this was a huge treat for them and a delight for us to take them there.

This is proof that we have kept our promise post event to the public of our responsibilities. We hope we have set a good example of what a band fan group can do. We hope our actions shows what can be done when passion meets determination. For the love of music can spread to other positive things, especially because we are constantly inspired by the philanthropic works of Incubus.

Incunesia would like to say big thanks to Steve Rennie, Joseph Bielski, Jake Versluis, and of course, Incubus. And thank you to all Incubus fans for your support, faith and contribution. We couldn’t have done this without you.

Dear Jose,

Happy 34th birthday!

When I first made Incunesia on Facebook, I never thought it would become what it has become. I made it cause I wanted a specific private way to channel my liking towards Incubus that I can share with other Incubus fans. I made Incunesia on August 2009 and it was small back then but now we have over 890 members and counting. Now we have our own website, youtube, yahoo, twitter, blog, you name it we’re there!

When I first thought of making a tribute and charity event, I never thought it would become what it has become either. The idea itself manifested into something words cannot justify. I met new people who understand my admiration and passion towards Incubus. I learned that I can do things that I never thought I’d be able to do. I learned that when there is determination, my dreams can become reality . I’m glad everything worked out so well and it was more than what we expected in the end. I hope Incubus, Make Yourself Foundation, Ren Management and all Incubus fans around the world are proud of what we did. I am super glad that Incunesia pulled this off.

Above all, what makes me the happiest is the fact that I share this with my team who has lent their hands, mind, feet, words, happiness, frustrations, smiles and dreams. I love my Incunesia team. I really do. And it’s funny when I think that all this that came alive from liking one thing, a band called Incubus.

Dear Ben,

Happy 33rd birthday! Incunesia wishes you all the best in current and future endeavors. May you be bless with more musical ability. Even though it looks like you have mastered most instruments already but no harm in wishing you well!

We think you are a fantastic addition to Incubus. The flare you brought to “A Crow Left Of The Murder” was stellar! ACLTOM is a favorite among true Incubus fans.

We hope you’re having a blast wherever you are.

PS: Thanks for being so cool with fans on your Facebook page. Keep it real, brother.

Dear Brandon a.k.a. The Invisible Floating Torso Man, Cornelius, Granola, Superstar, Brandon of the Jungle & Happy Knappy,

Happy birthday! All of us from Incunesia wish you all the best in life, love, music and art. You are one of the most influential person known in the world that has the power to put an impact towards others to think, appreciate, create and live life with terms of one’s own and no one else’s. We think the way you project that impact is simply beautiful, which is through how you live your own life. Not many has the courage and strength to create and reach their ideal life but we have hope when we see you. We’ll never stop doing what we love to do because you have given and shown us the ultimate example that everything is possible. Thank you for being you.

Here’s a quote that perfectly describes Mr. Brandon Boyd as a person, musician and artist: “A sincere artist is not one who makes a faithful attempt to put on to canvas what is in front of him, but one who tries to create something which is, in itself, a living thing.”

Archie, who is a big fan of Dirk Lance but admires Ben Kenney as well, had his birthday on Feb 13th during our pre-celebration gathering for Brandon. We surprised him with a Tiramisu cake from Cheese Cake Factory, which was sooo good and enjoyed by everyone. Happy birthday, Archie!

Incunesia is going to have a gathering at Jakarta, Indonesia on Saturday, 13 February 2010, to pre-celebrate Brandon’s 34th birthday! We thought it would be fun to get together and have a fun Incubus time; chatting, sharing, take pics and jamming away. We will document the whole thing and post it up on our blog for all of you to see.

If you’re doing the same thing in your hometown, please tell us by commenting below or share it on our Incunesia Facebook Page with the link on the left side. Cheers!

We thought it would be great to have our own Incunesia T-shirts that we could sell and the profit we make will go to Make Yourself Foundation. We took it up a notch by producing the T-shirts in more colors and making it available worldwide.

Incunesia T-shirts are available with 3 different colors: Black, Red & White.
Size: M (shoulder width 45cm, shirt length 65cm)
L (shoulder width 50cm, shirt length 70cm)
Unisex T-shirt: male & female is the same.

For international order, the price is US $5 (not including shipment yet).

If you would like to order, please email specifying your full name & address and also the color, size & quantity of the T-shirt. We will reply you with details of the bank account to transfer the money.

Later on we are going to set up an eBay/ PayPal account to make it easier for you fine folks to purchase the T-shirts.
